2006 Beginning Runners Program in Asheville, NC

Beginning Runners

If something works, why change it? For 14 years the Asheville Track Club has used the same twelve week formula to train new runners. The Beginners Running Program (BRP) is truly a “couch to 5k” training. Slowly the runner’s endurance increases and with this the running of the Bele Chere 5K is possible. On May 4, ATC will start the program. The group meets at Carrier Park 6 p.m., Tues and Thurs and 8 a.m. Saturday. No pre-registration is necessary. Maybe you’re not a beginner, but a runner recovering from an injury. This program is a great way to get back into running. Invite your friends, co-workers and family members to attend this training. For the third year, Tom Kingsbury will lead the training. If you have any questions, please email him at burytom@charter.net If you are interested in being an assistant coach, please contact Tom. It is very rewarding to watch the progress of the new runners.[More]
